Alta Silica Horsetail herb has been in our line
for over 30 years. The founder of our company, Richard Barmakian,
N.D. went to Paris, France in 1972 to study with Professor Louis C.
Kervran, the author of the
book
“Biological
Transmutations”,
and
a
member
of
the
New
York
Academy
of
Science.
Barmakian
based Alta
Silica
Horsetail
herb
on the
aqueous
extract
of
equisetum
arvense,
because
of
his
studies with
Kervran.
Our Alta Silica is not a Silica Extract, it is a
Horsetail Extract that contains silica. The silica naturally
occurring in horsetail is bound to the natural organic chemicals in
the
horsetail
plant.
Please be
aware
that
this has
nothing
to
do
with
inorganic
silica
that
is
basically just
powdered
rock
and is
very
difficult
for
the
body
to
absorb.
There are many inferior quality Horsetail
Extracts on the market today that have been spiked with powdered
silica to artificially raise the silica content. This is easily and
cheaply
done.
The
silica
added
in this
way
is
the
same
inorganic
silica
that
the
body
can
not
absorb.
Alta Health Products Silica, in contrast,
contains no added silica. It is 100% only the native silica plus the
associated bioflavonoids from the horsetail plant, and is highly
bioavailable compared to inorganic silica.
Alta Silica is made from horsetail by means of
a special extraction process done under the guidelines that were
provided to Dr. Barmakian by Professor Louis Kervran. The
soluble/colloidal chelated Silica plus the associated bioflavonoids
are separated from the inorganic Quartz form of Silica and
concentrated to give the final highest potency Equisetum/Silica
product possible. During this aqueous extract process the enzyme
that can lead to thiamine deficiency is leached out of the product
making it safe and
non-toxic.
Silicon has been recognized as an essential
trace element for connective tissue in bone and cartilage. An
important study conducted at the School of Public Health at the
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) shows that
silicon-supplemented bones have a 100 percent increase in collagen
when compared with low-silicon bones. The end result is more and
faster bone growth in the presence of silicon.
Silica is vital to the beauty of a woman. As
one ages, collagen is lost, thus collagen could be called a youth
factor. One of the main components of collagen is Silica. Silica
enhances skin by keeping it youthful and soft. It enhances nails by
